Constance Marten and Mark Gordon appear in court charged with manslaughter of baby Victoria

A couple charged with the manslaughter of a baby named Victoria will next appear in court at the Old Bailey in London later this month.

Constance Marten and Mark Gordon have been charged with gross neglegence manslaughter, concealing a child’s birth and perverting the course of justice.

They were charged after a baby’s remains were found in the Hollingbury area of Brighton on March 1.

A post-mortem examination has been unable to establish a cause of death and further tests will take place.

Marten, 35, and Gordon, 48, appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

They are due to appear next at the Old Bailey on March 31.

The pair were arrested on Monday in East Sussex after missing persons search of nearly eight weeks.
