Tower Hamlets crash: Detectives appealing for information after motorcyclist dies in Poplar

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dash cam footage is being asked to contact the Met Police.

Detectives are appealing for information after a motorcyclist fatally collided with a central reservation in Tower Hamlets last Thursday (September 14).

The 51-year-old man, who has yet to be formally identified, was given CPR by members of the public and an off-duty Met Police officer after crashing on Aspen Way in Poplar, not far from Canary Wharf. Despite their best efforts, he died at the scene.

The Met was called at around 5.20pm on Thursday to reports of the incident. The man’s next of kin have been informed.

Detectives are now appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage to try and establish what happened leading up to the collision.
