Arsenal are currently seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table. So far this season, they’ve only failed to win two of their 16 league games. Who will they look to sign in January to help solidify their position?

The Gunners are reportedly “interested” in bringing in a versatile attacking player from Atletico Madrid. With Gabriel Jesus out for another month, he could bring strength in depth to Arsenal’s forward line. Despite this, there may be concerns surrounding the finances.

Additionally, Arsenal are, according to reports, also looking at bringing in a Slovakian defender from Inter. They’re apparently not the only club in the race - they may face stiff competition in the form of PSG, one of the richest clubs in the world. Can they overcome in the interest from the Parisian giants, or will they be beaten to the punch?

Arsenal interested in possibility of signing Joao Felix

The Gunners are interested in signing Joao Felix on loan from Atletico Madrid, according to The Athletic. However, Atletico may be asking for more money than Arsenal are willing to pay for a loan deal.

The Athletic claim that Atletico are seeking a “€21 million package (£18.6m; $22.5m), comprising a €15million loan fee plus €6 million gross salary.” They also say that Arsenal consider this “too high a price to pay for a loan.” Should Atletico lower their demands, a deal could be reached between the two clubs. Felix has been with the Madrid club since 2019. This season, he has scored four goals and registered three assists in 13 La Liga games.

Gunners reportedly in race to sign Milan Škriniar

Arsenal are reportedly interested in the prospect of signing Milan Skriniar from Inter, according to Calcio Mercato. The 27-year-old’s contract at Inter expires in the summer - the Italian club are looking to renew his deal, but they have yet to agree anything with him.

They’re far from the only club who are though to have the Slovakian on their radar. PSG, Chelsea and Manchester United are also interested in Skriniar, according to the Mail Online.
