Arsenal take on Brighton & Hove Albion tomorrow in what will be their final fixture of 2022 before the new year and before the January transfer window opens.
The Gunners continue to be linked with multiple players in different positions and it could end up being a busy transfer window as they look to improve their squad for a serious push at the Premier League title. Mikel Arteta’s side currently sit top of the table but will surely need reinforcements to consolidate that position.
Here is how the North London club’s starting XI, which football statistics site Transfermarkt values at a whopping £520m, could potentially look at the end of the transfer window if the latest speculation turns out to be true:
1. GK - Aaron Ramsdale
The English stopper has conceded the second least goals of any keeper in the Premier League this season, second only to Newcastle’s Nick Pope, and has the number one jersey nailed down at the Emirates
2. RB - Ben White
White has been operating at right back for a few months now and with Japan international Takehiro Tomiyasu providing competition the Gunners are well covered even with Cedric Soares rumoured to be heading to Fulham
3. CB - William Saliba
White’s move from central defence to full back was caused due to the emergence of the Frenchman who has become a crowd favourite since breaking into the Arsenal starting XI this season
4. CB - Gabriel Magalhaes
Saliba has formed a strong partnership with the Brazilian which should sustain for the second half of the season as part of an established back four - although more depth in defence might still be a consideration
