Though it’s been possible to compete as an international team since 2016, EA Sports have added women’s clubs this time around, meaning you can play as one of 24 teams from the Women’s Super League and France’s Division 1 Féminine.
This edition of the game also brings the most comprehensive women’s ratings ever compiled, with hundreds of players given scores for over 30 different attributes.
With the Ballon D’Or and Tuttosport recently having had their say for who is the best of the best, here are the top 10 female players in the world, according to FIFA 23 ratings....
1. Alexia Putellas - 92
Missing the Euros to an ACL injury didn’t stop the Barcelona captain from winning a second successive Ballon D’Or - or keep her from the top of the FIFA 23 rankings. Putellas, who idolized Andrés Iniesta growing up, is undoubtedly one of the greatest of all time.
2. Sam Kerr - 91
It’s safe to say the all-time leading NWSL scorer has had no problem transferring her skills into the Women’s Super League. After bagging 31 across all competitions last season, Kerr boasts the joint-best (tied with Alex Morgan and Ada Hegerberg) FIFA 23 shooting rating of 91.
3. Wendie Renard - 91
A one-club player, the French defender has lifted all eight of Olympique Lyons’ Champions League trophies. Captain for club and country, Renard boasts more than 100 international caps and is approaching her 300th Lyon appearance.
4. Ada Hegerberg - 91
The former Ballon D’Or winner was nominated again this year. In April, the all-time Champions League top-scorer bagged one and assisted one in Lyon’s final win over Barcelona.
