Chelsea have broken the British transfer record in back to back transfer windows - but there transfer activity is far from finished

The transfer window is never dull for Chelsea fans and the London giants have continued to make the headlines this summer as they begin their rebuild under new boss Mauricio Pochettino.

The Blues are hoping to bounce back to the Champions League places this season after a pitiful 12th place finish last term and they have once again smashed the British record transfer record with the £115m signing of Ecuadorian international Moises Caicedo.

Chelsea have refreshed their squad with a number of high profile ins and outs and the likes of Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson, Axel Diatsi and Robert Sanchez have all arrived to replace experienced names such as Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, Kalidou Koulibaly and N’Golo Kante.

Pochettino named four debutants in his starting lineup for his teams opener with Liverpool, but this team is far from the finished product and we can expect to see even more transfer activity at Stamford Bridge in the coming weeks.

With that in mind we have rounded up all the latest transfer rumours and speculation surrounding Chelsea as we approach the end of the window.

The Red’s returned to the market and agreed a £60m fee with Southampton for teenage midfielder Romeo Lavia, but history seems to be repeating itself and the Belgian has stated that Chelsea is his preferred destination.

No agreement has been made between Southampton and Chelsea for the midfielder yet - but one is thought to be close according to reports.

The Blues are desperate to add to their midfield options and Lavia would provide competition for big money signing’s Enzo Fernandez and Caicedo, along with academy graduate Connor Gallagher.

Chelsea were understood to have met that release clause, but the club went on to turn their attention to other targets in Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.

However, Adams is still likely to return to the Premier League next season and Bournemouth have now activated his release clause as they continue to strengthen their team under new coach Andoni Iraola.

Lewis Hall’s breakthrough was one of the high points of a dismal 2022/23 season for Chelsea.

But the 18-year-old is unlikely to play for the first team this season and he has been heavily linked with a move to join London rivals Crystal Palace on loan.

The Eagles are keen to sign the young defender, but they are expected to face competition from another Premier League side in Newcastle United, who are also hoping to strengthen their team ahead of their Champions League campaign.

Hall is not the only Chelsea player to be linked with a move to St James’ Park and big money signing Marc Cucurella has also been linked with a loan move to the North East.
