Chelsea confirmed team vs Brighton and Hove Albion: one change as surprise Noni Madueke decision is made

Chelsea are seeking only their first consecutive away win of 2024 when they take on Brighton tonight in the Premier League.

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is hoping that his team can record only their second away win of the year after winning an entertaining game against Nottingham Forest last weekend at the City Ground to boost their chance of qualifying for some form of European football

The Chelsea boss to everyone's surprise has almost a full squad with the return of Reece James who played his first minutes of 2024 at the City Ground. The England international will now hope that he can get some more minutes after being named on the bench for the game this evening.

It has taken a while but Chelsea look to be travelling the right way finally after winning three of their last four games. The Blues have lost only one of their last 13 games in what is now an impressive end to a challenging campaign.

Pochettino has been keen to highlight the need for patience but also admitted that this was Chelsea and they needed to instil a winning culture. The Chelsea boss said recently: “I don't want to say nothing because, from the beginning of the season, I said the objective always is to win because we are Chelsea.”

Brighton picked up a surprise 1-1 draw against Newcastle in their last game and they play Manchester United next in what has been a challenging season that saw them play in the Europa League for the first time in this history.

So with that in mind, this is the team Pochettino has named for the game this evening.

Petrovic, Cucurella, Malo Gusto, Trevoh Chalobah, Badiashile, Palmer, Gallagher, Caicedo, Mudryk, Jackson, Madueke.
