Conor Gallagerh who is part of the England team at the World Cup has been speaking about the Palace.

Chelsea star Conor Gallagher admits he enjoyed his time at Crystal Palace and has continued to develop under Thomas Tuchel and now Graham Potter. The England international who will be heading to the World Cup was a massive hit at Selhurst last season.

This season, he started slowly but has now benefitted from injuries to N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovaic. Gallagher will hope he’s able to impress and help England at the World Cup in Qatar.

Looking back at his time in south London and some of the players he played with, the 22-year-old said he particularly enjoyed his time with Michael Olise who is expected to do big things in the not so distant future.

Gallagher told HITC : “He [Olise] was in the academy with Chelsea when we were younger and he was always 2 years below me, so I never really knew what he was like. So, I never knew what to expect when he came to the Palace.

“But he was just so exciting, even to play with. You’d give the ball to his feet and you’d kind of expect him to go and do something magic.I feel like he’s got such a bright future and yeah, just a joy to play with.”

Crystal Palace have not done that badly since Gallagher left and they are currently 11th in the Premier League, his departure has led to more game time for Eberechi Ezi who has been so good he was mighty close to be named in the England World Cup team.
