Crystal Palace and England defender Marc Guehi is on the list of top-six clubs but the Eagles will only sell for a big fee.

Crystal Palace will reportedly demand £60 million for defender Marc Geuhi who has been consistently linked with a move away from Selhurst this summer. The Eagles have just confirmed veteran manager Roy Hodgson as the boss for next season after he guided them to Premier League safety.

Guehi has established himself as a formidable part of the Eagles team and his efforts have not gone unnoticed, with Tottenham reportedly eyeing him as they look to strengthen the squad for new manager Ange Postecoglou.

Arsenal are augmenting their squad with new players, having agreed a British record deal for midfielder Declan Rice from West Ham. The Gunners’ interest in Guehi is as back-up for William Saliba, whose injury at the end of last campaign was a blow to their title ambitions.

It remains to be seen whether the player is interested in a role like that, having impressed consistently in the Premier League. Manchester United and Newcastle are the latest to have been linked even though sources have told Londonworld that no club has made contact with the player or Crystal Palace.

Tottenham have space for a central defender but are reported to be negotiating a deal to re-sign Clement Lenglet and have been in touch with Micky van de Ven. However, Guehi ticks all the boxes, being English, at the right age, proven in the Premier League, and already in and around the England team.

Newcastle have been widely reported as admirers even though they are hesitant because of the £60m price tag. Guehi signed a five-year deal with the Eagles in 2021 and in the last two seasons has matured into one of the leaders of the team, he was handed the armband a couple of times under Patrick Vieira.

He is at the stage in his career where there is certainly a temptation to try a top-six club, but Palace sources say the Eagles are not desperate to sell at the moment. However a good deal might be too good to turn down.

The south London club are also anxiously waiting to see what the final call for talisman Wilfried Zaha will be after his contract ended last month. He has still not accpepted the new offer from Palace, which would smash their wage bill - a £200k-a-week deal.

Zaha also has offers from Lazio, who have European football, a life-changing £10million deal from a Saudi, and some clubs in France.

Other Palace players who could suddenly attract interest are Eze, who was sensational since Roy Hodgson took over the club, and Joachim Andersen.
