Postecoglou hands 31-year-old first start in months amid two changes: Tottenham predicted XI vs Arsenal

Tottenham have the task of being the team to stop Arsenal from their ambitions of winning the Premier League title on the 20th anniversary of the Invincibles.

The Gunners come into the game at the back of the 5-0 demolishing of Chelsea on Monday night while Spurs have had two weeks to prepare for this game.

Since Tottenham’s last league game, their Champions League-chasing rivals Aston Villa have played three times and won two putting pressure on the Lilywhites to go all out and secure a result that should keep them in the hunt for Europe.

Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou has said that he doesn’t measure progress by just finishing in the top four and wants to see significant progress in the way his team plays, not many tests bring the best out of a game like the North London derby.

Spurs have struggled defensively this season especially at home, keeping only two clean sheets so they will have to be considerably better if they are going to get something from the game.

There is some hope though as despite Arsenal being by far the better side against Chelsea they still gave away chances that a team in better shape than the Blues would have punished.

Ange Postecoglou is desperate to end his first season in the Premier League on a high, he would have been disappointed that they did not sustain the Premier League challenge after a brilliant start to the league season.

So to try and get all three points, below is the team the Spurs boss is likely to put out.
