West Ham frustrated Liverpool on Saturday as they held the title-chasers to a point at the London Stadium, which could well spell the end of the Merseyside club's hopes of winning the league.

Jarrod Bowen returned to the Hammers’ side and opened the scoring before half time only for Andrew Robertson to net a leveller minutes after the break. The Reds then took the lead through an Alphonse Areola own goal but David Moyes' side salvaged a point through Michail Antonio.

The talking point after full-time came from an incident that occurred off the pitch at the London Stadium between Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah and manager Jurgen Klopp. The two were seen having a heated exchange with one another before the Egyptian came on the pitch with tempers flaring in the Liverpool camp.

Speaking after the draw with West Ham in London, the Liverpool boss was asked what had gone on between the two. He said: "We spoke about it in the dressing room, but it’s done for me. That’s it.”

Meanwhile, the winger was clearly less desperate to take the sting out of the situation. In a brief exchange after the match, Salah said there would be 'fire today if I speak' regarding his spat with the manager.

Today, The Athletic reports that despite the player's apparent unhappiness with life at Anfield, the club is planning to have the goalscorer with them for 'at least another campaign'. The star's contract with the club doesn't expire until next summer and the outlet adds that he has shown 'no indication of wanting out' and that Saudi Arabian clubs are aware of his desire to remain at Liverpool.

There had been rumours of a £215 million bid being sent for the Egyptian by Al Ittihad last summer, but Liverpool showed no desire to sell. News of Salah staying at Liverpool would also be a boost for West Ham ahead of the summer transfer window, with the Reds reportedly bidding £50 million for Bowen in the January window as a potential Salah replacement according to HITC.
