21 pubs for Londoners to check out over the King’s coronation.

His majesty’s upcoming coronation is set to mark an additional bank holiday in May, and what better way to celebrate the festivities than at a royal-named pub? We’ve compiled a list of 21 spots city dwellers can check out.

King Charles III’s coronation will take place on Saturday, May 6, with the following Monday set to be a bank holiday. This means there will be a total of three bank holidays in May.

The capital will host the coronation, as the ceremony will take place at Westminster Abbey. While the city prepares to welcome those from across the country to join in on the celebrations, others may choose to honour the coronation in London by raising a glass at a pub.

London is home to many royal-named pubs, meaning both locals and visitors of the city are spoilt for choice over the coronation period. From venues named after his majesty’s former Prince Of Wales title to other King-themed names, the capital has plenty to choose from.

We break down some of the royal-themed spots in the city that Londoners can head to over the coronation period.

Prince Of Wales

In honour of his majesty’s former title of Prince Of Wales, why not head to a pub that goes by the moniker? Before he ascended to the throne, King Charles III served under the title for almost 60 years.

The pub name features on the top most popular pub names in the UK, and as you can imagine, the capital is home to a fair few of them.

In honour of the next royal era with a King Charles on the throne, the pub could be a good spot to raise a glass for the coronation.

Address: 55-57 Northdown St, London N1 9DP

Dog & Bull

This spot may not have a royal name, but it does have regal history. King Charles III famously pulled a pint in the Croydon pub back in 1994.

The Dog & Bull Twitter account looked back on his majesty’s visit last year while sharing a throwback snap of him pouring a pint at the venue.

Address: 24-25 Surrey Street, Croydon, CR0 IRG
