Hillingdon road closures: nine for motorists to avoid this week

Hillingdon's motorists will have nine road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And five of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• M25, from 12.02am December 1 2021 to 11.59pm June 1 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 clockwise, junction 15, Hard shoulder closure for CAT 1 embankment erosion.

And a further eight closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A40, from 9pm April 4 to 6am April 6, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M40 southbound, junction 1a to junction 1, Lane closures for maintenance works.

• M4, from 10pm April 4 to 5.30am April 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 4B to junction 5, Lane closures for smart motorway works.

• M4, from 10pm April 5 to 5.30am April 6, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 4, slip road closure for smart motorway works, diversion via National highways network.

• M4, from 10pm April 6 to 5.30am April 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 3 to junction 4, Lane closure for smart motorway works.

• M25, from 10pm April 6 to 5.30am April 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 4B to junction 3, carriageway, link road and entry slip road closures for M4 Smart motorway works, diversion via Highways England network and local authority roads.

• M40, from 8am April 7 to 5pm April 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M40 southbound, junction 1a to junction 1, northbound, Hard Shoulder closure.

• M25, from 11pm April 8 to 5.30am April 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 4B to junction 3, carriageway, link road and entry slip road closures for M4 Smart motorway works, diversion via Highways England network and local authority roads.

• M4, from 11pm April 8 to 5.30am April 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 3 to junction 4B, carriageway and entry slip road closures for M4 Smart motorway works, diversion via local authority roads.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
