Good news as food hygiene ratings handed to 12 Merton establishments

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to 12 of Merton’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to 10 restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Leon Restaurants at 1-3 Wimbledon Hill Road, Wimbledon; rated on October 31

• Rated 5: Coffee in the Wood at 99-101 High Street Collier'S Wood, Colliers Wood; rated on October 30

• Rated 5: KFC at 3 Chapter Way, Colliers Wood, London; rated on October 30

• Rated 5: Aconcagua Kitchen at SW19; rated on October 25

• Rated 5: Cote Bistro at 8 High Street, Wimbledon; rated on October 24

• Rated 5: Paul UK LTD at 87 High Street, Wimbledon; rated on October 24
