New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Tower Hamlets’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Yi Fang Fruit Tea, at Unit 2b Block B, Lyell Street, London was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on January 17.

And Joan, at 19-23 Bethnal Green Road, London was given a score of zero on January 25.

It means that of Tower Hamlets's 1,019 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 730 (72%) have ratings of five and just three have zero ratings.
