A 50-year-old woman has been killed after a collision with a lorry in east London.

Police were called at 10.44am on Thursday (May 23) to reports of a crash at Cambridge Heath Road in Bethnal Green.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended but sadly the female pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene at 10.56am.

Enquiries are under way to notify next of kin.

The driver of the lorry stopped at the scene and the Met Police said there have been no arrests.

Road closures and cordons remain in place.
