Koray Alpergin: Fourth man charged with murder and kidnap of DJ found dead in Essex woodland

Mr Alpergin and a woman had been reported missing the day before his body was found by police officers.

A fourth person has been charged with the murder and kidnap of a London DJ who was found dead in woodland near an Essex industrial estate.

Koray Alpergin, 43, the owner of Turkish radio station Bizim FM, was found dead near Oakwood Hill Industrial Estate in Loughton, Essex on Saturday October 15.

Mr Alpergin and a 33-year-old woman were taken from a house in Ebony Crescent in Enfield, north London, on Thursday October 13, police said.

Junior Kettle, 31, of Kingsdown Road, Islington, has been charged with two counts of kidnap and one count of murder.

Kettle appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday November 7 where he was remanded to appear at the Old Bailey Court on Friday January 6 2023.

Erdogan Ulcay, 55, of Oakeshott Avenue, Camden, Ali Kavak, 25 of De Quincey Road, Tottenham and the boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons have also been charged with the kidnap of the woman, who was later found unharmed.

A fourth man, aged 55, was bailed pending further enquiries until mid-November.

Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command continue to support Mr Alpergin’s family.

A post-mortem examination carried out on Monday, October 16, found Mr Alpergin died from severe trauma.
