Ealing teenager Victor Lee named as Scrubs Lane Grand Union Canal stabbing victim - three teen murder arrests

Teenagers aged 14, 15 and 17 have been arrested on suspicion of murder after the killing near Wormwood Scrubs and Willesden Junction.

The fatal stabbing victim who was found in the Grand Union Canal has been named by police and three teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Police were called at approximately 5.45pm on Sunday, June 25 to reports of a male in the canal under Scrubs Lane, suffering from stab injuries. He was pulled from the water but, despite the efforts of the emergency services, was pronounced dead at the scene at 6.09pm.

Although formal identification is yet to take place, detectives have named him as 17-year-old Victor Lee, from Ealing. His family has been informed.

A post-mortem examination Wednesday gave the cause of death as stab wounds.

On Friday, detectives arrested three males – aged 14, 15 and 17 – on suspicion of murder. They remain in custody at south London police stations.

Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie, from the Specialist Crime Command, said: “We are continuing to provide Victor’s family with support during this traumatic time and our thoughts remain with them.

“This morning, we made three arrests as part of our investigation into Victor’s murder. However, I still need to hear from anyone who has information about what happened last Sunday.

“Were you in the area of the Grand Union Canal towpath near the Scrubs Lane bridge, or travelling on Scrubs Lane, between 5.15pm and 6.15pm? Did you see a fight, or hear anything that may assist with the investigation?

“If you were driving in the area and have a dash cam, please review your footage and contact us or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

“My team will be in the vicinity of Scrubs Lane tomorrow, Sunday, 2 July as part of a proactive appeal for information.”
