Former Arsenal striker Alan Smith has told a Gunners goalkeeper, midfielder and striker to seek new playing time at a new Premier League club.

Out of favour Arsenal stars Eddie Nketiah, Aaron Ramsdale and Reiss Nelson have been urged to push for exits from the Emirates Stadium amid transfer interest from Premier League rivals including Crystal Palace, West Ham and Chelsea.

That's the message from Gunners legend Alan Smith, who feels that the trio of players are better than bench warmers and could do a job at another top flight club. All three have been linked with moves away in recent weeks and, according to Transfermarkt, hold a cumulative market value of £60m.

Striker Nketiah has struggled for game time this season with Mikel Arteta more ready to deploy midfielder Kai Havertz as the lone striker before turning to the academy graduate. Nketiah made 27 Premier League appearances last season but 17 of those came from the bench as he bagged five goals.

The 25-year-old has proven his capabilities in the league, turning heads with a hat-trick against Sheffield United last October in a standout moment. The Sun reports that Fulham would love to recruit the player and are 'frontrunners', willing to pay £30 million for his services.

Meanwhile, Wolves and Crystal Palace are also linked with the forward while Everton are more keen on a loan deal for the player, who has another three years on his current Gunners deal.

Alan Smith told Lord Ping: "Eddie Nketiah used to get 20 minutes quite regularly the season before this one, but since Havertz has come in, that's not happening anymore. It’s a shame for him because I do like him. He's come through the ranks and he's a good finisher but with so little game time I'm sure now he'll want to start really getting his career going."

Meanwhile, shot-stopper Aaron Ramsdale lost his starting berth last season to on loan Brentford goalkeeper David Raya. The latter goalkeeper will arrive on a permanent transfer this summer, leaving the England international struggling for minutes once again.

Ramsdale's fall from favour has been well documented and he is another linked with a summer exit. Newcastle United were said to be interested, but look to now have turned to young Burnley man James Trafford, while Wolves and Chelsea have also been named as potential destinations.

Smith said: "Ramsdale does not want to be sitting on the bench all season again, does he? He’s said as much in a recent interview. Ramsdale is good enough to occupy the number one spot in the Premier League for somebody, whether it's a top four club is another matter."

The final player of the trio urged to move on by the former striker is Reiss Nelson. The midfielder started just one Premier League game this season and Football Insider reports that West Ham and Nottingham Forest have made contact with Arsenal to enquire about the player's availability for a summer move.

Smith said: "Reiss Nelson is in a very similar situation. He needs to be playing regularly now. From Arsenal's point of view, it is an advantage [to sell home grown players] because these youth team players can command good fees that, as we know with the financial regulations, are regarded as pure profit because they come through the academy."
