The talented Watford youngster is said to be being watched by Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Arsenal have been linked with a transfer move for rising Watford star Yaser Asprilla in recent weeks and now the 20-year-old's agent has spoken out to address the links with the Premier League outfit.

The winger was one of the Championship's stand out stars last season and is believed to have caught the interest of several suitors ahead of the summer transfer window, including La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Asprilla made 44 appearances in the second tier and stood out as the club endured a hit-and-miss season for the Hornets, registering six goals and seven assists. He was also named Watford's Young Player of the Season.

Arsenal had been linked with a move for the star, who Football League World reports is valued at £40 million, with the Gunners supposedly fans of his potential. Watford are said to be keen to keep the player at Vicarage Road with his contract running for another two years, but a lofty bid would surely be food for thought for the Championship club.

However, Asprilla's agent Jonathan Restrepo told El VBar Caracol: “No one has contacted from Leicester. There is interest from other Premier clubs and other European countries.

"Arsenal have never asked me a question. These are things that the media is putting out.”

Asprilla came under huge praise from Jake Livermore earlier this season, complementing his development under former manager Valerian Ismael. He told SkyBet: “There’s no doubt about it, he [Yaser Asprilla] has fantastic ability, and it’s a pleasure to play alongside him. The manager has got the best out of him, which is difficult at such a young age and when games come thick and fast.

“The manager has been brilliant with him, and it’s difficult coming from different cultures, different styles of play since he’s been here – he's had a few styles of play to play under – but he’s really trying to take it on board. With all those factors included, it shows what a great all rounder he is – he's got all the ability there and I am sure he’ll flourish once it all comes together.”
