Latest transfer news regarding this reported Arsenal and Chelsea target emerges as the window opens for business

Arsenal target Moises Caicedo has reportedly decided to move to Chelsea this summer. The midfielder is facing an uncertain future at Brighton and Hove Albion and could leave for another Premier League side now the transfer window is open.

According to Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, he has opted to ‘join’ Mauricio Pochettino at Stamford Bridge. This would mean the Gunners would have to look elsewhere for reinforcements in the middle of the park over the next couple of months.

Arsenal have been linked with Caicedo for a while now after been attracted to his attention at the AMEX Stadium. Mikel Arteta’s side finished 2nd in the Premier League table last season behind Manchester City and will be aiming for another push for the title next term as well as juggling Champions League football with their busy schedule.

Brighton signed the 21-year-old in 2021 and he has since become a key player for the Sussex outfit, playing a key role in their Europa League qualification in the last campaign. Prior to his move to England a couple of years ago, he rose up through the youth ranks at Independiente del Valle and broke into their first-team as a youngster before being lured him by the bright lights on the Premier League.

Caicedo was initially loaned out by the Seagulls to Belgian club Beerschot to get some experience under his belt before returning to his parent club. He has since established himself in the starting XI and has made 53 appearances in all competitions, chipping in with a couple of goals along the way.

Winning the race to sign him would be a statement of intent by Chelsea if they can get a deal over the line. It has been an underwhelming past 12 months for the Blues and Pochettino will be looking to shake things up.
