Declan Rice may well be in line to leave West Ham United this summer, according to a friend and pundit.

Match of the Day pundit Danny Murphy has already explained Declan Rice’s transfer situation amid reported interest from Arsenal.

The Gunners need reinforcements in midfield, and particularly when it comes to holding midfielders, and Rice could be the perfect solution, according to reports. Fichajes have claimed that Arsenal are considering a big summer offer in a bid to snap up Rice from West Ham, who have played hardball in recent years amid interest from the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United.

The Hammers have demanded more than £100million previously, but amid their poor form this season, they may not be able to stand in the way of Rice moving on to bigger and better things. Arsenal may be able to offer that, now title contenders, and they will be hoping they will be able to use the term #Premier League champions’ to lure targets by the end of the season.

But will Rice be allowed to leave West Ham this summer? That’s something the midfielder’s friend and Match of the Day pundit Murphy has explained in a recent interview with Vibe With Five.

“I speak to Dec a lot and his dad and he’s so ambitious. It’s not, ‘I’m desperate to leave’, but the reality is, I think last year, last summer when people spoke about him leaving, I think (David) Moyes spoke to him, West Ham spoke to him and said, ‘do another year,’” Murphy said.

“I think they’ve said to him, ‘we’ll let you go this summer’. I think the reason’s he’s saying that in his press conference because West Ham, depending on if they get the right amount, they’ll want a decent chunk. But It’s time for him to go, he’s got to go.”

That suggests Arsenal may well get their opportunity to land Rice, if indeed they are interested in the England star.
