Chelsea have confirmed their second summer signing after agreeing to a deal with Brazilian side Palmeiras.

Chelsea have confirmed their second signing of the summer after agreeing to a nine-year deal with Palmeiras for 17-year-old sensation Estevao Willian. He will become the second signing of the summer even though he’s not expected at Stamford Bridge until he turns 18 next year.

LondonWorld has been told the deal will be worth around £51 million as the Blues take their search for talent in South America to the next level. A club statement read: “Chelsea Football Club has agreed a deal to sign teenage forward Estevao Willian from Palmeiras, with the Brazilian to officially join Chelsea next summer.”

The exciting forward now joins fellow Brazilians Andrey Santos, Deivid Washington, and Angelo Gabriel on the books of the 2021 Champions League winners.

The Most Expensive South American Teenager

The winger, highly regarded by many as one of the future stars of Brazilian football, is the most expensive teenager in South American football history. Chelsea have changed strategy and are now focusing on youth as they aim to build a team for the future.

The nine-year deal is evidence that they value him highly and managed to beat the likes of Real Madrid to his signature, a club that has had success signing young players like Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo from Brazil lately.

The teenager had his medical this week, and all the documents were signed today before Chelsea announced the signing. This is the second signing of the summer after they secured Tosin Adarabioyo, who arrived as a free agent from Fulham.

The Blues are also closing in on a deal to sign Aston Villa teenager Omari Kellyman. Unlike Willian, who is not expected until next season, Kellyman will be given a chance to fight for a place in Enzo Maresca's team next season as they aim to finish in a Champions League position and try to win something at the club.
