Chelsea have announced their third summer signing after confirming 18-year-old rising star.

Chelsea have announced the signing of Omari Kellyman from Aston Villa in a deal worth £19 million. The teenager is now the club's third summer signing, following the acquisition of Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer after his contract at Fulham expired, and the signing of Brazilian youngster Estevao Willian.

Estevao is not expected at Stamford Bridge until the summer of 2025 when he turns 18. However, unlike most youngsters, new signing Kellyman is not expected to go out on loan and will instead be trusted to fight for his spot in Enzo Maresca’s team.

Chelsea, who are also chasing Leicester's Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, announced the arrival of the 18-year-old attacking midfielder Kellyman on Saturday, just a few hours after confirming the exit of Ian Maatsen to Villa in a separate deal.

Chelsea failed to secure Champions League football last season and had to settle for Europa League football. However, their actions since then have been significant, including replacing manager Mauricio Pochettino with Enzo Maresca and pursuing some of the best young players to strengthen their squad.

Last season, Kellyman made six appearances in all competitions for Villa after joining the club from Derby County in March 2022.

More to come from Chelsea’s transfer window

In the midst of the Euros, Chelsea have remained very active in the transfer window with more than two months still to go. More deals are expected to happen. The future of players like Conor Gallagher and Trevoh Chalobah is still up in the air.

The Blues have also been linked to strikers including Barcelona youngster Marc Guiu and Aston Villa's Jhon Duran, though it's unclear if Chelsea will pursue Duran now that they have signed Kellyman.

New Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca will officially begin work next week, and the first batch of players is expected to return for pre-season towards the end of the week.
