Radamel Falcao joined Chelsea on a season-long loan deal in 2015 but never really got going in west London.

Former Chelsea and Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao has returned to play in the Colombian league for the first time in 15 years with Millonarios de Bogota. The 38-year-old, who spent a season at Chelsea, has been with Rayo Vallecano in Spain, where he scored 12 goals in 80 matches.

He has reportedly turned down a fresh deal worth £10 million to secure a move back to Millonarios, the club of his dreams. "Everybody knows that Millonarios is the team of my heart," Falcao said in a video recording.

He will play in Colombia's top flight for the first time in his career after signing a six-month contract, the team announced. Millonarios will play against River Plate in Argentina on July 9, although it's unclear if Falcao will be able to play in that match.

Falcao's time at Chelsea and Manchester United

The Colombian first joined Manchester United in 2014 with a huge reputation as one of the top strikers in Europe, but he could only manage four goals in his 29 appearances. Injuries and a lack of form led Manchester United to decide against making the move permanent.

He then signed for Chelsea the following season, linking up with former strike partner Diego Costa at Stamford Bridge, but that deal also failed to reignite his career. At Chelsea, he could only manage one goal in 12 appearances as injury prevented him from reaching his optimum level.

Falcao played four seasons with River Plate before signing with Porto for the 2009 season. In Portugal, he won two league titles and the Europa League.
