Chelsea’s chaotic season went from bad to worse with a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Brentford at Stamford Bridge.

Kepa Arrizabalaga-4

Kapa has shown great improvement to wrestle back his starting spot in the team, but he just doesn’t look like the keeper Chelsea need going forward. Conceded two goals tonight and should have done better for the second goal.

Trevoh Chalobah-4.5

Trevoh started the game with a faulty pass, but did not hide and showed real maturity in difficult situations. He would really be a great player if he could stay on his feet.

Wesley Fofana-5

Strong centre half play for most of the first half. Tight when he had to and left no gaps on his side of the pitch. He also took a lot of instructions from Silva and fair play to him, he just never complained. One of the top performers.

Thiago Silva-4

Gave Chalobah a strong word early on after a mis-placed pass, led the backline relatively well in the first half and headed narrowly wide in the second half. Will be frustrated with the result.

Ben Chilwell-5

Brilliant run in the first half and had the technique to let go of a shot that was fractional intercepted by the often brilliant Ben Mee for Brentford.

Cesar Azpilicueta-4

Played a high up on the right side of defence. Used his experience when he had to. Not the same player he was but still looked useful for large parts. He was unlucky that the first Brentford goal came off him in a very unfortunate deflection. Taken off at half time.

Mateo Kovacic-4

The Croatian was never really in the game for large parts of the first half. For all his technical ability, he neither creates or scores and when Chelsea are struggling it’s hard to see what makes him a great midfielder.

Enzo Fernandez-4

Forced a brilliant save from David Raya midway through the first half, and just as always kept to his usual standard of recycling the ball and trying to keep Chelsea on the front foot without never really standing out.

Conor Gallgaher -4

Gallagher is a manager’s delight. Plays the game with so much energy and enthusiam. There are concerns over his tactical discipline. Was replaced at half time.

N’Golo Kante-4.5

A galaxy of miss hit crosses highlighted his first half. Saw a lot more of the ball in the second half but just doesn’t look to be operating at his full level.

Raheem Sterling-3

Hard to work out what the Sterling’s game plan was. When wide, it was hard to get him on the ball and when he dropped in deep just didn’t have the ability to influence the game. A few crosses in the second half improved his score but nothing game changing. Chelsea need more form him.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang-4

Brought a lot of purpose into the game and should really have scored from one of Sterling’s set up. He did make a difference when he came on.

Mykhailo Mudryk-4

Bright and willing without really cutting through.

Joao Felix - N/A

Noni Madueke- N/A
