All you need to know about Crystal Palace’s clash against Liverpool this weekend

Crystal Palace take on Liverpool this weekend as they look to return to winning ways. The Eagles are struggling for wins at the moment and need to start picking up more points to avoid getting dragged into any potential danger near the bottom of the Premier League.

The Reds, on the other hand, are currently licking their wounds after losing 5-2 to Real Madrid at Anfield in the Champions League last time out. It has been a disappointing season for Jurgen Klopp’s side and they will want it to end as soon as possible.

Patrick Viera’s side also have second choice goalkeeper Sam Johnstone unavailable and he joins long-term absentee Nathan Ferguson in the treatment room. Tyrick Mitchell is fit though after going off last weekend against his former club Brentford and Viera has provided this update on him and Zaha: “Both of them trained with the team, and Wilfried is getting better and better. He had his last training session this morning and we have to wait until tomorrow to see the reaction that he will have or not.”

Midfielder James McArthur will be in the squad and Viera has said: “Macca has been really good. He’s been full training with the team this week, and he will be part of the squad tomorrow.”

As for Liverpool, defensive pair Joe Gomez and Ibrahima Konate are both injured. Klopp has a decision to make on who to pick in defence.

Crystal Palace Vs Liverpool head-to-head

Liverpool have enjoyed more success against Crystal Palace. However, this fixture is famous for when the Eagles fought back from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 back in 2014 in a result that dented the Reds’ title hopes that season. Dwight Gayle wass on the scoresheet twice near the end, with Damien Delaney scoring the first.

Crystal Palace wins: 14

Liverpool wins: 35
