Early predicted Championship table sees surprises for QPR, Portsmouth, Sheff Utd & more as fixtures released

It’s a mixed start to the Championship season for QPR but the run of fixtures is much more favourable than down on the south coast.

QPR and all other Championship clubs can now start to plan for their Championship season ahead after the EFL announced the fixture calendar for the upcoming campaign.

The R's will welcome West Brom to Loftus Road on the opening weekend of the season, a fixture that brought plenty of drama in a 2-2 draw when last played out in March. Marti Cifuentes' side will then face tricky trips to Sheffield United and Luton Town either side of a meeting with Plymouth Argyle in London.

Newly promoted Portsmouth perhaps have the most head-turning opening run of matches for their return to the Championship. The south coast side face seven promotion candidates in their opening weeks - Leeds United, Luton Town, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, West Brom, Burnley and Sheffield United all making for a baptism of fire.

LondonWorld looks at how the experts predict the Championship table may end up now that the fixture calendar has been announced.
