Leeds United feature in your Tuesday Championship round-up, alongside QPR and Watford.

QPR close to contract breakthrough

It had looked as if QPR winger Chris Willock could leave the club as a free agent this summer as talks over a new contract appeared to have stalled.

The R's had confirmed new agreements with Sinclair Armstrong and Jimmy Dunne in recent months but there was no news as to an extension for the 26-year-old, who made 39 Championship appearances last term. Championship rivals Sunderland and Norwich City were reportedly interested in capitalising on any standoff and bringing the former Arsenal youngster in on a free transfer.

However, The Athletic now reports that contract talks between Willock and QPR are ongoing with productive discussions being held. The outlet adds that staying at Loftus Road would be the 'preferred option' for the winger, who is keen to work with Marti Cifuentes again next term.

The Hornets had been linked with a move for QPR man Kenneth Paal, with the defender's deal at Loftus Road expiring next summer, but could also turn to the 19-year-old who spent the second half of last season on loan at Plymouth Argyle.

That's according to The Athletic, with the Villains supposedly keen to take their time in reviewing options for next season before deciding the best way to keep the teenager progressing.

Leeds United target sends transfer message

Transfer talk at Leeds United today has centred around the 'devastating' departure of talented teenage midfielder Archie Gray to Tottenham Hotspur, with defender Joe Rodon moving the other way to sweeten the blow for the Yorkshire outfit.

However, there is another transfer story that appears to be progressing. The Whites have been linked with interest in Gent defender Jordan Torunarigha.

The player has entered the final 12 months of his contract and has now told Transfermrkt he is 'ready' to leave the Belgian side. He said: “There are very exciting and specific inquiries that I am dealing with. I feel good, I’m in top shape and ready for the next step."

That could be enticing news for Leeds United, who would have to beat competition to sign the 26-year-old with Hoffenheim having supposedly tabled a £9 million bid for the player.
