Tottenham player ratings vs Burnley: three 6/10s and one 'relentless star' gets 8/10 in win

The player ratings from Tottenham’s Premier League game against Burnley on Saturday afternoon.

Tottenham came from a goal down to beat Burnley 2-1 and strengthen their grip on fifth place in the Premier League table. The win all but relegates Burnley who have shown good fight but eventually have left it too late in their fight for survival.

The visitors started the game better side, perhaps Spurs were scared by the four straight defeats they had suffered in the last three weeks. Vincent Kompany’s side knew they had to win this game to stand a chance of avoiding relegation so when Jacob Bruun Larsen put them ahead, it looked like a long day for the lilywhites

But as has been the story of the season for Kompany’s side they dropped their guard in the sunshine of north London so Spurs pushed forward and Pedro Porro took the ball almost half the line and with no one closing him down, he drove through before unleashing an unstoppable strike to level.

Only Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold has had more goal contributions than the Tottenham full-back and Spurs were back into it.

The Lilywhites then upped their game in the second half looking for a goal that would seal all three points- so again the relentless Micky van de Ven who had been moved to left moved his feet quickly before planting the ball beyond Arijanet Muric to give Spurs the lead for the first time in the game.

So in a game that swang from one place to the other, here is how we rated the Spurs players out there.
