Tottenham defender Luka Vuskovic is expected to join Belgian side Westerlo on loan as the next step in his development, according to a report on Football.London.

The 17-year-old joined Tottenham last September from Hajduk Split in a deal worth £12m for seven years, which means he will be at Spurs until 2030. He was swiftly sent out on loan to Polish side Radomiak Radom on a six-month deal, where he made 14 appearances and impressed heavily.

Blessed with an incredible physique and the ability to read the game well, Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has reportedly agreed with the club to loan him out for this season to give him a taste of competitive football at a decent level before integrating him into the team next season.

Polish side Radomiak Radom was hoping to keep him for another season on loan but Spurs have turned it around and decided a loan to Belgium was the best for him.

A Spurs insider told LondonWorld: “The club have a long-term plan for him and he’s being sent out on loan to ensure that his development is on a stage-by-stage basis.

“In any case, he’s not going to be able to play here until he turns 18, so from the Polish league, taking him to Belgium is seen by all as a chance to take his development to the next level.”

Another Tottenham youngster, Will Lankshear, is expected to head out on loan at some point this summer, with Middlesbrough manager Michael Carrick reportedly interested in him. But the final decision will be made by Tottenham manager Postecoglou, who wants to have him as part of his team for pre-season before deciding if he should head out on loan to the Championship to stick around for the season.
