Tottenham finished fifth last season, and with most players still away on holiday, two have returned.

Everyone is focused on the European Championship and the new Premier League campaign doesn't start for at least two months, but two Spurs players are already back at Hotspur Way, Tottenham’s training base in Enfield, north London.

Richarlison, who was ruled out of the last few games of the season due to injury, also missed out on the Copa America. Instead of being away on holiday, he has returned to London to work on his fitness ahead of the new season. The Brazilian was signed from Everton in 2022 for £60 million. He had his best campaign for the Lilywhites last season, contributing 12 goals in all competitions—10 in the league—as they secured Europa League football.

Another player who is back at the training ground is Italian defender Destiny Udogie. He was also ruled out of the last four games of the season after being forced off due to a knee injury he picked up in training. Udogie enjoyed a brilliant first campaign in north London, earning himself a new deal and ensuring he was the club’s first-choice left-back under Ange Postecoglou. The duo will be hoping to overcome injury concerns and be fit for pre-season in a couple of weeks.

Spurs active in the transfer window:

Tottenham are in the market for a midfielder and have been linked to Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze. They have also confirmed their first move in the transfer window, having agreed to extend Timo Werner’s contract for another season.

On the outgoing side, they have confirmed the exits of Japhet Tanganga, Ryan Sessegnon, Ivan Perisic, and Eric Dier. With Europa League football back in north London, they are expected to strengthen their squad with at least three new players for the coming season.
