West Ham are set to add another shot-stopper to their ranks with an outgoing also confirmed.

West Ham are set to make Sheffield United goalkeeper Wes Foderingham the club's second signing of the summer as a new era begins under Julen Lopetegui.

The Hammers have already confirmed the arrival of promising Brazilian youngster Luis Guilherme and now turn to a much more experienced footballer to join the ranks. Foderingham's contract with the Blades is due to expire this summer and he will join West Ham as a free agent.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on Thursday morning. Taking to social media platform X, he said: "Medical booked next week for Wes Foderingham as new West Ham goalkeeper."

Foderingham is set to sign a two-year deal with West Ham and become third choice shot-stopper behind Alphonse Areola and Lukas Fabianksi. 25-year-old academy product Nathan Trott is set to complete a switch to FC Copenhagen as Foderingham arrives through the doors.

Trott has spent the last two seasons on loan at Danish side Vejle. He has only ever made one first team appearance for the Hammers, a cameo in an FA Cup match against Doncaster Rovers in January 2021.

West Ham have been linked with a move for Foderingham in recent weeks but the player's arrival comes as somewhat of a surprise with the club reportedly close to sealing a deal for Fluminense forward Jhon Arias as their next transfer.

Foderingham has been at Sheffield United since 2020 and made 30 top flight appearances for the Blades last season as they endured a torrid return to the Premier League. He was a key part of the side that secured Championship promotion during the 2022/23 season.

The goalkeeper came through the Fulham youth academy as a youngster before joining Cyrstal Palace in 2020. Foderingham spent two years with the Eagles but didn't manage a first team outing as he was loaned to Bromley, Boreham Wood, Histon and Swindon Town during that time.

He eventually made the permanent switch to Swindon in 2012 before being snapped up by Glasgow giants Rangers in 2015. He made 143 appearances for the Gers, winning the Scottish Championship in 2016.
