Barnet road closures: six for motorists to avoid this week

Barnet's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And five of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that six closures are due to start this week:

• M1, from 11pm March 10 to 5am March 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 4 to junction 1, carriageway closure, entry slip road closure and lane closures for maintenance works, diversion via TFL roads.

• M1, from 10pm March 15 to 5am March 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 4, carriageway and slip road closure, diversion via TFL roads.

• M1, from 10pm March 18 to 5.30am March 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction London Gateway Services, carriageway closure and entry slip road closure for waterproofing investigations, diversion via TFL roads.

• M1, from 10.30pm March 19 to 5.30am March 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, carriageway closure and entry slip road closures for concrete repairs, diversion via TFL roads.

• M1, from 10pm March 20 to 5.30am March 28, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 4 to junction 1, carriageway closure, lane closures and entry slip road closures for urgent surveys, diversion via TFL roads.

• M1, from 10pm March 20 to 5.30am March 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, Lane closures for communication works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
