Good news as food hygiene ratings awarded to nine City of London establishments

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to nine of City of London’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to five restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Graysons, McCann World Group at Offices, 135 Bishopsgate, London; rated on November 2

• Rated 5: Cinnamon Kitchen at Retail Unit 1, Western Courtyard, Devonshire Square, London; rated on October 29

• Rated 5: Pan Pacific Hotel Banquet Kitchen at 80 Houndsditch, London; rated on October 21

• Rated 5: Cooley, Gather & Gather by CH&CO at 22 Bishopsgate, London; rated on October 20

• Rated 5: Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton at 2 London Wall Place, London; rated on August 3

Pubs, bars and nightclubs

And three ratings have been handed to pubs, bars or nightclubs:

• Rated 5: Seething Lane Tap at 14 Seething Lane, London; rated on November 4

• Rated 5: The Sea Horse at Sea Horse Public House, 64 Queen Victoria Street, London; rated on October 20

• Rated 5: Swan Tavern at The Swan Public House, 12 Ship Tavern Passage, London; rated on October 19
