A Croydon restaurant has been handed a new zero-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

Mirch Masala, a restaurant, cafe or canteen at 204 Brighton Road, Coulsdon was given the minimum score after assessment on September 27, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of Croydon's 578 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 398 (69%) have ratings of five and just three have zero ratings.
