New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Kingston’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

The Cafe At The Barn KT9, at Rushett Farm, Leatherhead Road, Chessington was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on May 16.

And Sumer Mediterranean Cuisine, at 142 High Street, New Malden was given a score of one on May 16.

It means that of Kingston's 384 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 237 (62%) have ratings of five and just three have zero ratings.
