All the latest transfer news surrounding Arsenal as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his squad.

Arsenal will already be working on their summer recruitment after an impressive campaign.

The Gunners may have blown the Premier League title race, but they will have gained valuable experience in how to deal with pressure, while Mikel Arteta will now have an even clearer idea of the areas he needs to strengthen in order to go that one step further. Edu and Arteta will now work in an attempt to bring in key targets ahead of the new season, with a healthy budget likely to be available.

In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest news surrounding the Emirates Stadium.

Pepe decision

Arsenal are said to be likely to offload missfit Nicolas Pepe this summer following his loan spell abroad.

Pepe has never managed to win over fans during his time at the Emirates Stadium following his big-money arrival, and he spent last season with Nice. The Telegraph have now written a report claiming Arteta has no plans to reintegrate the winger back into his squad ahead of next season, and a buying club will be sought.

Arsenal will inevitably lose a huge chunk of money on Pepe, but it seems they are willing to take the hit in order to refine their squad.

Castagne boost

Arsenal are said to be pushing for a deal to sign Leicester City star Timothy Castagne.

According to The Athletic, Arsenal are interested in signing the defender, and Leicester are willing to sell as they prepare to drop into the Championship. Arsenal want more depth at the back, and Castagne is able to work well with the ball at his feet, suiting Arteta’s style of play well.

The 27-year-old joined Leicester for less than £20million last summer, and it’s likely the Foxes will have to take at least a small loss due to their relegation.
