Arsenal continue keeping fans on their toes as they eye up several striker options ahead of summer transfer window

Arsenal have been handed a major update in their pursuit of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko. The Gunners have made their want of a new striker widely known and have eyed up the likes of Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres; Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Brentford’s Ivan Toney.

Slovenia international Sesko is another who Mikel Arteta has been hoping to bring to the Emirates Stadium following a sensational season in the Bundesliga. The 21-year-old has 20 goal contributions across all competitions for RB Leipzig in the 2023/24 campaign alone and, despite his release clause rising from £43m to £55m as a result of his goal-scoring abilities, he has now piqued the interest of several top Premier League clubs.

Manchester United and Chelsea have also been putting their names in the ring with the Gunners now ready for a transfer battle against their domestic competitors, and the interested parties have been handed a boost with journalist Florian Plettenberg believing it won’t be long before we se the 22-year-old in the English top tier.

The Sky Sports writer took the website to state: “There is a very good chance you will see him playing and scoring in the Premier League next season – we can’t see him playing in the Bundesliga.

“There are concrete enquiries and offers for him. We can confirm Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal have all enquired and started first talks. We have been told there is no final decision from the player and his camp at this stage of negotiations.

“There is a release clause the teams have to activate with a €65m transfer fee by the end of June. The player is considering the best option. RB Leipzig is doing everything to convince him to stay… Sesko is totally focused on the Euros. We think there will be a decision in the next two or three weeks or after the Euros.”

Sesko will be part of Slovenia’s European Championship squad that will first face Denmark on Sunday 16 June before taking on England in their final group stage fixture.
