Chelsea have just confirmed the first signing of the Enzo Maresca era.

Chelsea have confirmed the signing of 26-year-old Tosin Adarabioyo who has joined the club on a four-year deal with an option for another.

The defender who was poised to join Newcastle before Chelsea jumped in and changed his mind will be the first signing this summer and the first one under Italian manager Enzo Maresca who replaced Mauricio Pochettino last week.

His signing solves a lot of issues for the club, including their setpiece problems with the 6ft 5 defender immediately adding height to the back line. He also slots in the space that was created with the exit of Thiago Silva who arrived at the club four seasons ago and helped them win their second Champions League trophy in 2021.

Newcastle made him a better offer but the lure of Chelsea was just too hard to turn down. He said after the announcement: "Chelsea is a huge club and this is a full-circle moment for me. I was born three miles away from Stamford Bridge and made my professional debut there.

"I'm very excited and looking forward to helping push the club in the direction we want to go."

Chelsea have their eyes on Crystal Palace forward Michael Olise with LondonWorld told the Blues are eyeing a £60million deal for the French forward. Olise began his career at Chelsea Academy but it was at Reading where he cut his teeth in the Championship before Palace brought him to the big league.

The Evening Standard has also reported that the Maresca side are already preparing a bid that should tempt Steve Parish at the Palace. Manchester United are also interested in Olise who has been named in the French Olympic team, with the tournament team taking place in 49 days.

If they can get Olise and add to Adarabioyo, below is the team Chelsea could line up with next season.

Robert Sanchez, Reece James, Marc Cucurella, Tosin Adarabioyo, Benoit Badiashile, Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, Mykhailo Mudryk and Nicolas Jackson.
