The goal-scoring sensation has caught the attention of several top Premier League clubs ahead of summer transfer window

RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko has been attracting plenty of interest from across the Premier League with both Chelsea and Arsenal heavily linked with making a move for the striker once the summer transfer window opens up.

Arsenal have been eyeing a new striker for several months now with names such as Alexander Isak, Viktor Gyokeres, Joshua Zirkzee and Sesko all linked with an Emirates move.

Chelsea are also set to experience quite the shake up this summer with incoming boss Enzo Maresca ready to stamp his authority on new signings at Stamford Bridge. A new centre-back and goalkeeper have reportedly been promised as priorities but the west London club are also hoping to acquire a new striker with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Brentford’s Ivan Toney on the list of candidates.

Slovenia international Sesko is another tipped with the move and he has just been handed encouragement to make the move to SW6 over N7 after Chelsea’s goalkeeper Djorde Petrovic responded to the rumours that linked his side with the 22-year-old.

Speaking to Nogomania, the Serbian goalkeeper said of the RB Leipzig star whose enjoyed 20 goal contributions across all competitions this season: “I know and have been following him. He’s having a good half-season, he’s in great scoring form. I read that he’s scored in his last seven matches in a row. He seems to have gained strong momentum for the Euros. He’s a forward who has everything a modern player needs. He’s tall, strong, fast and intelligent.

“I’ve watched some of his matches. Of course, he can play in the Premier League. Absolutely! He has great potential and he’s been successfully proving it in recent months.”

Chelsea will, however, need to act quickly if they are hopeful of signing the star whose release clause has increased from £42m to £55m over the course of the season. The Daily Telegraph recently reported that Mikel Arteta’s side were in ‘pole position’ to sign the Slovenian and with previous reports that both Manchester United and Newcastle have also had their eye on the star, Enzo Maresca will need to get a move on if Sesko is to be his first signing at SW6.
