Chelsea are in the market for a striker this summer to give competition to Nicolas Jackson

Chelsea saw their £34m offer to sign Spanish striker Samu Omorodion quickly turned down by Atletico Madrid this week as their search for a striker to strengthen the team continues. The west London club admitted they were looking to pay £34 million, including add-ons, for Omorodion, who spent last season on loan at Deportivo Alaves. At just 20, Chelsea see him as an ideal striker with room to improve and the right age to adapt to the Premier League.

It has been a frustrating summer for the Blues, who initially targeted Napoli’s Victor Osimhen but quickly ruled him out due to the high transfer fee and wages involved. They faced another setback when long-term target Benjamin Sesko decided against a move and signed a new contract with RB Leipzig. Since then, Chelsea have approached Aston Villa about their Colombian striker Jhon Duran, with LondonWorld reporting that the Blues were given permission to discuss personal terms.

The Blues are also admirers of Stuttgart's 28-year-old Guinea forward Serhou Guirassy, who has a release clause worth around £15 million active this summer.

Chelsea’s Primary Target: Michael Olise

LondonWorld has reported that Chelsea’s main transfer target this summer is Crystal Palace forward Michael Olise. Their resolve is strengthened by the fact that Olise has a release clause in his contract. Last summer, Olise signed a new deal in South London despite Chelsea's efforts to sign him. After another stellar campaign, there is a feeling that this is the right time for him to move.

Olise has other admirers in the Premier League and abroad, including Manchester City, Newcastle, and Bayern Munich. Chelsea are confident they can fend off Newcastle's challenge, but Manchester City could pose a strong competition if their interest remains.

Manager Enzo Maresca’s side is also closing in on the signing of 17-year-old Palmeiras winger Estevao Willian – though he won't join until after his 18th birthday next summer.
