The two reasons why Crystal Palace star Michael Olise snubbed both Chelsea and Manchester united

Both Chelsea and Manchester United were linked to Michael Olise but it’s Bayern Munich who get him.

Chelsea thought they had secured Michael Olise last summer when they triggered his release clause, only for the French forward to opt out and sign a new deal at Selhurst Park, offering the club the chance to increase his selling clause. This summer, they went back for him, leading the pack that included widely reported interest from Newcastle and Manchester United. LondonWorld has been told that Real Madrid were also interested, as some of Europe’s top teams came calling for a talent that has grown season after season.

Munich will be his new home once the deal is finalised in the coming weeks, but Chelsea have been left to lick their wounds and have attempted to move on with links to Aston Villa’s 19-year-old Omari Kellyman. They have also been linked to striker Jhon Duran, even though they will have to pay around £40million to get that deal done. Manchester United will also attempt to move on from the snub and have been linked to Olise’s teammate, Eberechi Eze.

Why Olise decided against a move to Chelsea and Manchester United:

LondonWorld has been told that Palace did not appreciate how Chelsea made their interest in the player public and were more than happy to do a deal with Bayern once they knew of their interest. The player also wanted to be playing in the Champions League, which neither Chelsea nor Manchester United could provide this season. Then there were issues of his wages, with Chelsea not willing to break out of their strict wage structure for the clearly talented 22-year-old.

Sports BILD is reporting that at Bayern, he’s likely to earn around £10 million a year, while at Chelsea, he would have been on £7 million. Manchester United also had the issue of their manager to sort out all summer and only went in hard for Olise once they decided to stick with Erik ten Hag.

A club statement read: “Chelsea Football Club has agreed a deal to sign teenage forward Estevao Willian from Palmeiras, with the Brazilian to officially join Chelsea next summer. The 17-year-old has already built a strong reputation in South America as one of the most exciting talents around due to his skilful dribbling and electric pace, causing defences plenty of problems in his breakout season in senior football. Estevao has featured 10 times in the Brazilian Serie A for Palmeiras, contributing two goals and two assists, as well as also finding the net in the Copa Libertadores and Copa do Brasil.”
