Tottenham are preparing for a busy summer with some players looking to exit the club.

AC Milan are looking to sign Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, with his agent confirming that the Danish midfielder is seeking a club that will challenge for titles. Højbjerg has been limited to playing as a backup under Ange Postecoglou, with Yves Bissouma and Pape Sarr jumping ahead of the former Southampton man.

Højbjerg’s agent, Luca Puccinelli, spoke to Fabrizio Romano and said his client has several clubs interested in his services, but he is fully concentrating on Denmark and the Euros, and nothing will be decided until next month. He said:

“This year I started working with Pierre, and it was a great satisfaction for me to be able to convince a top player for the project I had for him. Pierre has already experienced a lot in his career; he has had great seasons at Tottenham with top coaches like Mourinho and then Conte last year. In the national team, he is a big leader as well.

“A player like him will surely be part of a club with great ambition or project because he is not just a strong player, but has a character made to fight for important things every year. Pierre feels comfortable under the pressure to win, and I am working in this sense.

“He is telling me that every year he dreams of trophies at the end of the season and doesn’t like to play for nothing. This is his mindset, this is the mission.”

Milan are on the hunt for a physical midfielder capable of playing in front of the defense this summer, wanting to bolster Paulo Fonseca’s squad. A number of candidates have already been identified, including Feyenoord’s Mats Wieffer and Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana.

Last season, Højbjerg started only eight games as Spurs began brilliantly before finishing fifth in the league and securing Europa League football.
