Conor Gallagher has just a year left on his current deal and is willing to stay at Chelsea this season.

Chelsea will not sell Conor Gallagher for less than £50 million despite the midfielder having just a year left on his current deal, LondonWorld has been told. Spanish La Liga side Atletico Madrid are the latest club to show interest in the English midfielder, but LondonWorld’s sources in Spain say they’re struggling to meet Chelsea’s valuation with the Blues insisting their valuation of the player must be met.

Chelsea have made it clear they are willing to sell Gallagher, who is among a group of players that represent pure profit, but they’re not lowering their demands. Gallagher captained the team for large parts of last season under Mauricio Pochettino.

The 24-year-old midfielder is currently away with the England team at the Euros and has admitted he isn't losing sleep over talks of his future, as he wants to concentrate on helping his country. Gallagher said: "I'm a Chelsea player right now and I'm just thinking about England and the tournament. It's not difficult. I'm away with England and I couldn't be happier with the position I'm in. I've just been focusing on England.”

Tottenham have long-term admiration for Gallagher, but it remains to be seen if they’ll meet his valuation, Aston Villa have also been linked lately. Chelsea are looking to balance the books, having spent close to £1 billion in the two years since BlueCo took over the club.

Last season, Gallagher scored seven goals and provided nine assists in 50 games for Chelsea and was a regular in the team when more expensively assembled teammates struggled to find form or fitness.

Sources have told LondonWorld that despite all the speculation, Gallagher is happy in West London and is willing to stay if he and the club do not agree on a new deal or sale before the transfer window closes.

Chelsea are expected to adopt a possession-based brand of football under new manager Enzo Maresca, who replaced Pochettino this summer. Gallagher has proven over the years that he can adapt, having played under managers like Thomas Tuchel, Frank Lampard, and Pochettino.
