Tottenham have beaten London rivals the Leeds United star to strengthen their squad.

Tottenham have secured the services of midfielder Archie Gray on a six-year deal worth £35 million, LondonWorld has been told. Tottenham defender Joe Rodon is also said to be heading back to Elland Road in a separate deal worth around £10 million.

Sources have confirmed to LondonWorld that Gray's contract will be a five-year deal with a club option for one more year which takes the whole package to a six year deal. Leeds United were determined to include defender Rodon, who made 42 Championship starts for them last season, but Spurs held on to ensure it was a separate deal.

The midfielder is now expected to have his medical before putting to pen a six year deal with the Lilywhites.

Spurs took up the option to renew Rodon’s contract by a year, knowing very well that Daniel Farke’s side was interested in him, as well as other Premier League sides, including Ipswich Town and Southampton.

Gray will be Tottenham’s second signing of the summer after they secured Timo Werner on loan for another season. Swedish youngster Lucas Bergvall is also expected to arrive in north London this week to begin pre-season, even though his deal was agreed upon in January, with the club having to wait until he turned 18 before joining them.

Last season, Gray was one of the star players for Leeds, playing 52 games throughout the campaign as they came close to securing Premier League promotion. Spurs finished fifth in the league, missing out on their target of Champions League football but have been compensated by qualifying for the Europa League.

Last season, they crashed out of both the League Cup and FA Cup at an early stage, so they will be looking to improve in those competitions this season as well as challenge for the league title and enjoy a good European campaign.

Gray will compete for minutes with the likes of Pape Sarr, Yves Bissouma, and Dejan Kulusevski, who has the ability to play centrally when needed.
