Basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal is being linked with West Ham. According to a report by The Sun, he is ‘in talks’ over buying a potential stake in the club.

The American is said to be a fan of English football and could delve into the sport with the Hammers. The 52-year-old watched a game last season. He spent his career playing for Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics before retiring in 2011.

The club are currently owned by four stakeholders, including David Sullivan and Vanessa Gold, the widow of the late David Gold.
