Tanguy Ndombele left Spurs this summer after making only 91 appearances in five years at the club.

Nice, Lille OSC, and Olympique de Marseille are all interested in Tanguy Ndombele after his Tottenham contract was terminated by mutual consent last week.

According to reports in France, Ndombele, who joined Tottenham Hotspur for a then-record fee of £53.8m from Olympique Lyonnais in 2019, is taking his time to decide his next move after a difficult few years.

Since being signed by Mauricio Pochettino, Ndombele has failed to live up to expectations, with loan spells at Lyon, Napoli, and Galatasaray doing little to reignite his spark. Tottenham confirmed his departure in a statement last week.

The statement read: "The club can confirm the departure of Tanguy Ndombele following the mutual termination of his contract, effective from June 30, upon the conclusion of his current loan spell. Signed from Olympique Lyonnais in July 2019, the midfielder scored on his debut against Aston Villa and went on to make 91 appearances for us in all competitions, scoring 10 goals. During his time here, Tanguy had loan spells back at Lyon, Napoli, and with Turkish Süper Lig side Galatasaray last season. We would like to wish Tanguy all the best for the future."

Marseille, the front runners for the midfielder, are closing in on a deal to sign former Brighton and Hove manager Roberto De Zerbi. It will only be after his announcement that they will enter the transfer market.

There is interest in Geoffrey Kondogbia and Jordan Veretout from abroad. Their departure will likely create the opening for Marseille to go for Ndombele, a talented player who has lost his way recently.

Tottenham are also in the market to replace Ndombele after getting his wages off the books, although sources at the club have told LondonWorld they’re not interested in signing Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie.

Spurs finished fifth in the league last season and narrowly missed out on Champions League football. They hope to strengthen this summer as they aim to improve on performances and results from last season.
