The Polish star could soon be announced as the newest arrival in N17 once fee is agreed

Tottenham Hotspur are ‘closing in’ on the Fenerbahce forward Sebastian Szymanksi, according to claims in the Turkish media.

Links have previously been made between the Poland international and the north London club and reports had suggested an offer was imminent. It would now appear, according to Aslinda, that the negotiations are coming to an end between the Premier League and Turkish SuperLig clubs with Szymanski ready for a move to England.

The report adds that Szymanski has agreed personal terms with Spurs as they hope to secure a four-year deal. Talks are said to be continuing as the two clubs agree on the transfer price.

Reportedly, Ange Postecoglou’s side made an initial offer of €17.5 million (£14.7m) but it is highly likely this apparent offer will have to be increased. A story via TEAMtalk in January claimed that it would cost the north Londers closer to £30 million to seal the deal

Lazio and Marseille were also linked with the 25-year-old Polish star but it appears the Lilywhites are winning the race with Szymanski set to travel to England for a medical.

The attacking midfielder began his career with Legia Warsaw in 2015 and headed to Dynamo Moscow in 2019. He made 77 league appearances for the Russian club before heading out on loan to Feyenoord in the 2022/23 campaign.

Szymanski was announced as Fenerbahce’s newest arrival in July 2023, with the winger signing a four-year contract for £8.2m. He has gone on to make 55 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 13 goals and providing 19 further assists in the process. He had a staggering average of a goal involvement every 1.71 games which, if the same form continued at Spurs, would make him the second most productive player behind Son Heung Min.

The attacking midfielder was also named in Poland’s Euros 2024 squad, most recently featuring in the nation’s 1-1 draw against France.
