Tottenham are eyeing another Dutch centre-back to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.

Tottenham have entered the race to sign highly-rated centre-back Lutsharel Geertruida, who is currently with his country at the ongoing Euro 2024. Spurs hit the jackpot when they brought Micky van de Ven from Wolfsburg last season. Before arriving in North London, he was relatively unknown to English fans but ended up being the Player of the Season for Ange Postecoglou’s side as they finished fifth in the Premier League.

According to Foot Mercato, the Lilywhites are now looking to bring in his Dutch compatriot Geertruida, who scored eight goals for Feyenoord last season. It's clear manager Postecoglou favours ball-playing centre-backs and is looking to add Geertruida to the team, especially after Radu Dragusin turned down the chance to join Bayern Munich and instead moved to North London in January.

The report further adds that Liverpool are also interested in the youngster, who knows their manager Arne Slot. Slot is looking to get his time in Liverpool off to a flyer, as well as French giants PSG, who are looking to kick on after the sale of star man Kylian Mbappe.

PSG are reported to have already agreed on personal terms, even though they are yet to reach a similar agreement with his club, who are determined to hold on to their prized asset.

Tottenham eyeing players who fit Postecoglou’s playing style:

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou vowed to rebuild the foundations of the club after the defeat to Manchester City last season, and it’s clear he’s looking to bring in players he feels can understand his game.

Postecoglou said after the Man City game: “I think the last 48 hours have revealed to me that the foundations are fairly fragile, mate. That’s just what I think. I just think the last 48 hours have revealed a fair bit to me. That’s alright. It just means I’ve got to go back to the drawing board with some things.”

They have already confirmed the signing of Timo Werner for another season, giving them time to evaluate him before making a firm decision on it. LondonWorld has been told they’re in the market for another striker and a midfielder before the window closes.
